So we here at the Register are doing a lot of video work now. You can hit our Web site and check out all kinds of different video stories that augment the print paper and also preview the daily newspaper.
As of last week, I'm helping with this through a video preview of the week's Weekend section. You can check out my preview of the March 7 issue here.
Joe Amarante will also be doing these, previewing his Weekend column. You can see his last one here.
So, go watch and look for these every Thursday on the site. That's it. I'll write more soon.

Pat's hot!
Well, I can't say that I'd chime in with anonymous #1, but I will say that it's a pretty interesting idea, and kudos to the Register for the breadth of clips that it has up there.
As for your clips, they're well edited, and they certainly for the uninitiated, they hint at the personality that really shines through in your writing (that was meant as a compliment, though I'm not sure it came out as such). You ALMOST seem comfortable doing it, and certainly have it all over a couple of your colleagues.
Anyway, again, it's a pretty interesting use of technology - I think it'd be beneficial if the clips were catalogued by subject (or somesuch) - certainly links off of the individual pages to them would be good; moreover, a guide to them in the printed copy might send more people to the website. Frankly, I'd be really interested to see some band interviews done this way - it'd be a way to expose folks to the sounds and songs of some groups that perhaps don't get much in the way of publicity.
Glad that you're giving it a shot, and that there's an injection of your personality in what the viewers get to see. Keep up the good stuff -
Hey Pat,
Thanks for the shout-out in your video, but I need to inform you that I'm not dead. The CHARACTER that I was playing died. It's what we in the business like to call "Hollywood Magic." POOF! So anyway, nice job, but please get your facts straight.
Oh, and please buy "Young Guns" on dvd. Special Edition, baby.
Lou! Lou! I love you. Where have you been? I know — playing characters of all races on film and television screens around the world. Sometimes you just feel dead to me ...
I'm watching "Young Guns" as I tpye this!
