Busy, Busy Week

My guess is that I won't be posting much on here in the next couple days because of early deadlines with the holiday and all, but I thought I'd make note of a couple things.

While my stuff usually only appears in Weekend, I had two stories in today's paper. Head right here to read my story about McDonald's, and you can go here to read about "Chinese Democracy" going on sale Sunday.

That's it for now. Hope you guys are surviving what I assume is a short week for most.

It was nice to read your story on Mickey D's not only because I love me some Egg McMuffins, but because we tend to just think of your work in the musical oeuvre. We forget what an English major can do when they stretch their estimable talents. Anyway - an informative, well rounded and well written piece. Nice job. Have yourself a terrific Thanksgiving wherever you may find yourself.

is it just me and my mac and my firefox or did your blog explode into super large sans serif font? (arial 12 point, perhaps, with 1.5 paragraph spacing? or 125 percent...)

it's so. very. large. and the layout seems a little off. i feel like you're shouting at me. sorry. is it because you're on deadline? do you not like turkey? did you read my entry about Christmas and how much i love it and you're angry with me? i jest. but. really. big font.

i've heard mixed reviews on the GNR stuff, but i've been going back to listen to Use Your Illusion in order to gear up for the new stuff. it's conveniently mixed into my current playlist between the dulcet and melodramatic tones of my beloved Cure (don't hate) and America.

I apologize for the change in what the blog looks like. I can't say I'm a fan of it. I agree with you. The GNR isn't bad. Not great. But good. And it can still fit snug between The Cure and Duran Duran or something.

Just noticed when watching this week's video - for some reason, against the new darker background, your eyes seem to totally disappear into the darkness (I swear. Check it out if you don't believe me). Maybe if you did it sans glasses? Oh sure, you might be blind, but... Anyway, I'm no cinematography expert, but I'm sure it has something to do with lighting or green screen, or some other high falutin' video term I know nothing about.

P.S. - "Four Christmases" was ridiculously bad. I'd RATHER shop on Friday than think about the fact that I spend $10 for this unfunny junk.

Greetings PF:
Hope you and yours had a great Thanksgiving, and that your travels home and back were safe. Instead of braving the malls yesterday, I braved "Australia" instead. Pretty to look at, to be sure, but I'll be honest - I actually dozed off about half way through. Jackman's OK, and Kidman's convincing about half the time (the part where she plays the icy English matron). You could pump her with transfusions right before the cameras roll, and I'd never call her full-blooded. Anyhow - not terrible, but certainly not a rousing way to spend an afternoon. I'd recommend it only if you've seen every other better picture out there (and by that, I mean "Role Models"!).

Yes, my eyes are gone in the video. It is because I am really a zombie, not a human boy. My secret is out ...

I knew it.

Oh well...at least you're a zombie with a sense of humor.

Rock on.
